A light source with a hagstone, used as an eccentric cam in a colour changing mechanism. The hue gradually shifts as the rock rotates and pushes an acetate sheet up and down.

The gemoetry of a stone eroded for millions of years briefly dictates the colour of the light in a room. These rocks can then be returned to the world, replaced with new stones found, or kept as “programs” for different light cycles.  For a more intentional experience light could be shaped with air drying clay, curves intentionally created to determine the mood of lighting.

This version requires stones with a very large “throw” to change the colour significantly. Exploring mechanims that use leverage to exaggerate the movement has potential.
