Foundation project exploring “Functional Sculpture”.

When taking apart household appliances I discovered the bus bars inside extension cords, curving in an alternating pattern. This form developed inspired by stacking paving slabs working at a DIY store, rotating each slab 45 degrees to leave room for fingers and refined with wax and clay impressions. Experiments breaking the circuit by physically splitting the device followed, completely impractical with 240v, but interesting to play with conceptually and at lower voltages.

This contributed to my later project Candour Clock and my philisophy around using geometry as transparency instead of material.
